Adam is a Partner of Hannaford Turner (since 2019) and has some 14 years’ experience in superyacht and other luxury asset work.

He is widely acknowledged as a leader in these fields and is regularly instructed by UHNWI’s, family offices and other industry participants for the depth and breadth of his expertise. He is ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide as a leader in the field of Yachts and Superyachts and has been consecutively since 2017. He is often sought out for comment by various media outlets including The New York Times and The Superyacht Group and also writes “Super Structures” a regular bulletin which focuses on issues relating to the superyacht construction industry.

His practice covers both contentious and non-contentious work with a particular focus on superyacht (particularly construction) and private aviation related matters. His non-contentious practice covers all manner of transactional and advisory work, from new build yacht construction projects (from 30m to 140m+), sale and purchase, asset finance, insurance, regulatory and tax work (particularly VAT).

He also acts as a consultant to a Middle Eastern multi-family office, where he brings his legal and commercial experience to bear and assists in various aspects of their deal origination, negotiation and execution including transactions in the aviation finance and luxury asset finance sector.

On the contentious side, Adam has handled a wide range of disputes (usually dealt with by way of arbitration) including numerous high value yacht construction and charter matters along with a range of other commercial disputes.

Above all, Adam is a lawyer that values building strong relationships with clients and puts client care and service before everything else.

  • Acting for an Italian shipyard in relation to multiple yacht construction agreements (30m-44m projects)
  • Acting for the purchaser of an Italian built 40m solar powered catamaran.
  • Acted for large Northern European yacht builder on various yacht construction agreements (100m+), design agreements and other commercial and finance agreements pertaining to the builder’s operations.
  • Acted for the Buyer on the refit/conversion of a 55m motor yacht.
  • Acted for the Owner on a refit of 82m UK built motor yacht.
  • Acted for the Owner in relation to various design agreements in respect of an 80m+ superyacht.
