Robert joined Hannaford Turner as a partner in October 2023. A litigator with nearly 20 years’ post qualification experience, Robert has a proven track record of representing clients in large and complex high value cases in the English High Court and Court of Appeal as well in in London Arbitration under the LMAA, LCIA and UNCITRAL Terms. Robert’s practice covers a wide range of dry shipping matters including disputes under charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment and shipbuilding contracts as well as wider commercial disputes, often involving allegations of fraud. Robert has been described by clients in recent editions of Legal 500 as “very knowledgeable in shipping litigation, leaves no stone unturned in his investigations and preparation for trial, and provides prompt and very clear advice” (2023 edition) and as “a leading figure, whom we have been working with many years. He has business acumen and he always provides detailed guidance for any queries involved.” (2024 edition).
